The June 1, 2026 CSAN newsletter highlights a busy month of statewide engagement, advocacy, and new member resources as CSAN continues building a stronger and more connected charter school sector under new Executive Director Selena Torres-Fossett. CSAN hosted school leader councils in Southern and Northern Nevada, launched the new CSAN Program Finder powered by Schola to help families discover charter school enrichment programs and events, and announced a forthcoming member portal for schools to access resources and update information. The newsletter also emphasizes key policy developments, including the May SPCSA Board meeting, NIAA governance concerns and the lack of a charter voting seat, Commission on School Funding discussions around at-risk funding, direct certification, transportation funding, capital reserves, and ongoing efforts to reduce reporting requirements. Looking ahead, CSAN calls on schools to stay engaged through membership calls, task forces, regional events, and the Nevada Happy Hour at NCSC26, stressing that active participation is essential as funding, governance, and public perception decisions continue to shape the future of Nevada charter schools.
